A check in with TK

Hello everybody,

As you can tell the blog has been lacking in any new posts the past several weeks and while I would love to be able to post something new and exciting everyday I just can't. I've been too busy with work and other various things that the blog just gets pushed aside for a bit.

I told myself that I wouldn't let this blog turn into my former blog which I just forgot about completely and I'm standing by that. I will continue to post new blog postings when I have time because I have had a lot of people approach me and tell me that they love my blog and the news I provide for them!!! So I'm not going anywhere anytime soon.

This blog will return to normal with daily postings once people are back in school because that is when people check it the most. The summer is time for us to be out with friends and family so that is what I've been doing like the rest of you fellow blog followers as well. But I thought since it's late Thursday night almost midnight Friday morning I would write a little bit because I've been wanting to now for quite a while so here we go:

As many of you know I just recently turned the big 25!!! I know right? I still can't believe it sometimes that I'm 25 years old. I don't ever really feel that old but here we are lol. I have been having a terrific summer which was recently highlighted by two events. The first was the surprise party we threw for my girlfriend Amanda's 21st Birthday! It was a night I know I'll never soon forget and one I think she won't as well :)

The second thing was my Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas Cruise vacation I went on. My friends if there is something I ever tell you to do/experience, this is it. I kid you not that boat was freaking insane/ridiculous/awesome and legendary all rolled up into one kick-ass package. That's how awesome it was. There was something going on every night of the week and it truly is a floating city, the ship is so big it will take you the entire week to explore all that the Oasis has to offer. It was a trip of a lifetime that I got to experience with some great people!!!

Other then that my friends, not a whole lot has been going on besides work and play. With the 4th coming up it'll be nice to sneak up to Michigan for a couple of days to sit by the lake and of course play some golf with family even though I won't shoot that well, but hey, who cares right?

I hope everybody out there who follows this blog and hell who doesn't is having a terrific summer of their own as well. It's halfway over already and for me, it's been one for the record books already and I can only hope that it continues to get better with each new day!

TK Movie Review- Bridesmaids, not your ordinary Chick Flick

Well hello friends and followers...

So the other day Amanda and I decided to venture out to Marcus Cinema to catch a movie we've both been wanting to see and that movie was 'Bridesmaids.' Now being a guy I at first glance thought it was just nothing more then a chick flick and I wasn't going to enjoy the ladies perspective. Well after watching it my friends, insert foot in mouth here, it was freaking hilarious, and I mean freaking hilarious.

The movie has a pretty solid comedic cast led by Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph but also features some other familiar faces including Rose Byrne, Ellie Kempler and my new favorite comedy actress Melissa McCarthy who steals the movie in every scene she is in.

The premise of the movie is clear from the title. Annie (Wiig) whose life is in utter disarray, finds out that her life long best friend Lillian (Rudolph) is getting married and is asked to be the maid of honor. But little does she and the audience watching know that she soon finds herself facing some stiff competition from Helen played wonderfully by Byrne, who has now been deemed Lillian's new BFF. So of course the two of them try to upstage each other and since Annie has very little money and no real life security let's say can't afford the nicest of things, is put into awkward situations by Helen because she is a very rich and popular lady.

So the movie focuses on their rival and then the rest of the group as well. There are two moments in the movie that will stand out to me for many years to come and if you've seen the movie you'll know what I'm talking about right away. The first is the scene in which our ladies find themselves trying on different bridesmaids dresses and suddenly start to feel sick. Cue the uncontrollable laughter now guys. This scene becomes so funny and disgusting it's like a bad car wreck, you can't turn away from it. Needless to say the girls have the sudden urge to use the bathroom and since there is only one toilet....well use your imagination to what else is in the bathroom to use!

The second scene is the one in which we see our two rivals slowly start to unite over the fact that they can't find the bride to be. So in order to get the attention of Annie's love interest Officer Nathan, Annie turns on the charm and does things behind the wheel that no human being should do while driving. Drinking, smoking and of course texting behind the wheel.

Bridesmaids is not just a funny movie but has a good heart behind it. The friendship that the girls have is tested and the struggles that I'm sure all girls bridal parties go through are put to the ultimate test, maybe a bit more because after all, it's a Hollywood movie here.

Wiig is terrific as the funny leading lady but also shows off her sensitive side in the picture as well which is a refreshing thing to see on screen. But the major shout out goes to Megan McCarthy for portraying the larger then life Megan. There are some classic movie moments and I use the term classic very seriously here. She has some moments in that movie that truly make you want to pee your pants. She is the total package in this movie and Bridesmaids is a film that both guys and girls will definitely walk out of smiling.

Bridesmaids earns a 3.5/4 on the TK scale!

Happy Wednesday Everyone...

Just checking in to all my followers out there. Hope everyone had a nice day today, I sure did. Went to the mall with Amanda to finish shopping for the cruise and then had a nice relaxing evening watching the season finale of Modern Family and then catching the last 30 mins of Idol to see Scotty win, congrats to him. (still wish James Durbin would of won)

Already the middle of the week, where does the time go? I am really excited for this weekend to roll around, not sure why but I am. Working a lot and making money is good but it just takes me another day closer to my cruise with all the Chi-Town cruisers, I can't freaking wait!!! It's almost here!!!

Anyways, we'll be at work for like 10 hours tomorrow so no new postings I'm afraid but def keep checking back and take a look at the new poll question I got up, it concerns the movies of course.

Thanks guys for reading!

TK's Takeout- Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Review

Ahoy mates,

When you think of successful movie franchises what comes to mind? Star Wars, Jurassic Park and Lord of the Rings sure but there is another successful franchise that has raked in over 2 billion dollars across the globe and that is the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. If you're like me then you fell in love with these movies and characters all the way back in 2003 with the first installment; The Curse of the Black Pearl. Now while many would say the second and third installments fell far shorter then the first I respectively disagree.

I loved the second and third movies because they each had a unique story that I found very enjoyable and entertaining which brings us to 2011 with Disney's fourth installment of their Pirates franchise entitled On Stranger Tides.

This time around for our beloved Jack Sparrow, excuse me Captain Jack Sparrow the landscape and journey have changed. Enter Penelope Cruz, Ian McShane and the returning Geoffrey Rush and remove the love couple Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley. Pirates 4 even with a whole new group of faces and characters to learn does tell a good story with a lot of interesting twists and turns along the way.

I loved the back story of Angelica (Cruz) a woman from Sparrow's past and how it is she comes to find Jack and lead him on a quest to find the fountain of youth before others do. Cruz is a terrific actress and I think she adds a new refreshing twist to the franchise because it is fun to see her and Jack interact with one another because clearly there is a connection the two of them are trying not to act on. Also playing a vital role in the movie is Blackbeard played by the terrific Ian McShane.

Blackbeard is the pirate all pirates fear according to many in the movie and we soon discover the Angelica is the daughter of Blackbeard and that the two of them are out to find the fountain of youth with Jack's guidance and experience before the one legged man comes to kill Blackbeard. The one legged man is the new King's loyal subject- Captain Barbosa played by the awesome Geoffrey Rush. Barbosa isn't a feared pirate captain anymore my friends instead he is dressed up in proper clothes and has to wear a silly wig as he is King's man.

What P4 lacks though at times is a little more development of some of the characters I found fascinating. The mermaids for instance are only given a little bit of screen time and I found myself wanting to know more about them and what made them how they are shown on screen. Another character who I found particularly interesting is Philip Swift, a missionary captured by Blackbeard. Here is a man completely devoted to his religion and is on board to hopefully restore Blackbeard's soul and save him from going to the underworld. He is a man of great faith and shows all living things love and I wanted to know a little bit more about him.

The action and story in P4 does however flow pretty consistently throughout the movie but does slow down a little bit at times to tell the story maybe a little bit more then it needs to. While all that is fine and dandy I just could of used a little bit more action instead of dialogue. Depp is once again terrific as Captain Jack Sparrow and while the film does recycle some of the previous jokes we've seen in past installments he still makes you laugh out loud and provide us moviegoers what any summer movie should provide, entertainment.

It's a good movie to see with a group of friends or it does make for a nice date night movie out. If you're interested and SPOILER ALERT- there is a small scene after the credits that doesn't set up a fifth Pirates movie but needless to say it's a scene that will spark up some interest for you and your friends to discuss.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides gets 3/4 stars on the TK's Takeout Movie Scale!!!

A midnight posting...it's always good in a 1-2-3 way

Hey everybody,

Just got done watching Saturday Night Live's season finale with host Justin Timberlake and musical guest Lady Gaga, and it was awesome.

I think that in my lifetime, there hasn't been a better host then Justin Timberlake and I'll argue it with anybody. Sure they reuse a lot of his sketches like the singing billboard guy, 'bring it on to omletville, and the Barry Gibb talk show with him playing Robin Gibb but who cares? The digital shorts are things of legend now. Dick in a Box, Mother Love and the three-way one tonight, all are pop classics if you ask me.

The show is always funny because JT can relate to the youth of America today and he is a very good comedic actor and is going to be one for a very long time to come. I think it was a terrific job on SNL's part to have JT host a season that featured some very bad episodes.

HINT- have Bill Hader as Stefon each week because that is the best character to come along in a long long time.

Major kudos again to JT because he is unstoppable as host of SNL. He should host at least once a year because he is freaking fresh and hysterical every time out. Also gotta give props to Lady Gaga. She is the biggest thing in music right now and while the vocals weren't the greatest tonight(she worried too much about performing) I still enjoyed her performances.

Anyways, have a great rest of your weekend everybody, and oh yeah about the end of the world thing...I'M STILL HERE!!!

TK's Take: Office Season 7 Finale Recap

Well Office fans it's been quite a ride this year for the Dunder Mifflin staff. No storyline was touched on more then the departure of our beloved Michael Scott, boy do I miss him already.

With tonight's season finale we were all left wondering, who was going to take over Dunder Mifflin and fill the seat of the late great Michael Scott. While I have my opinion on whose the perfect fit to lead the Office (we'll touch on that later,) let's take a look at who interviewed for the job tonight and whose really in the running to take over.

Ricky Gervais- did the computer interview and will not be joining the show. He wouldn't mesh well with this cast and I think he is too far out there to blend with the cast. I personally don't think he is that great and I would absolutely hate to see him join the cast, so I'm ruling him out.

Ray Romano- thought his character on tonight's episode was pretty funny. I loved how he was very awkward and strange and pulled out a sandwich in the middle of the interview. Back to reality- Romano is contracted with his current show Men of a Certain Age otherwise I think he would seriously have been considered to take over as branch manager, so he is out of the running.

Catherine Tate- didn't like this character at all, not one bit, I can't stress this enough. Thought she was boring and just plain dull in my opinion, and luckily I don't think she'll be taking over anytime soon, so she is out of the running.

Warren Buffet- really? Next...

Will Arnett- While a lot of people consider him to be a very funny and talented actor, TK doesn't. I'm sorry people but everything Will has done I personally find stupid and boring. I don't think he would gel with this cast at all and doesn't fit in to what the show is about. Plus the fact he has a new pilot with Christina Applegate this fall, so he is out as well.

That leaves Jim Carrey and James Spader.

Jim Carrey while he was only shown briefly was freaking hysterical. The man is a true comedy genius and I think he would be a great fit for the show. Now while there is next to a zero percent chance the show will sign him, I'm sorry to say it he won't be joining the show. He's way too big of a movie star to give that up and focus on a television sitcom. It sucks because I think he would of been a great fit.

James Spader- easily my favorite candidate of the night. I loved this character and how he played with Jim and pretty much everyone in the interviewing process. I loved how direct and kind of mysterious he was and I really enjoyed it. I think this character showed great promise and could fit in nicely with the cast. I loved his one on one with Dwight downstairs as he was trying to figure Dwight out, wait he just did, too funny if you ask me. I think Spader is a serious contender to take over the show's leading spot.

Now on to the guys who actually are a part of the show and interviewed...Dwight, Andy and Darrel.

Dwight- what else can you say about his dedication? I mean he wrapped himself up as a burn victim and pretended to be someone else just to get an interview, that has to count for something. Unfortunately Dwight will not be taking over the bosses chair next season, just a gut feeling, but you can't blame a man for trying.

Andy- I would love to see Andy in charge so I'm just going to come right out with it. I think Andy brings such a spirit and passion to the show and that is brought out by the terrific Ed Helms. I think the show sometimes under utilizes him and bringing him to the forefront would present the show with a fresh new life and that's exactly what this show needs now that the heart and soul, Carell has left the building. Sure his sales records aren't good but he is educated and likes everyone in the office, his words not mine!

Darrel- I'll come right out and say it, just like I did for Andy, I would almost stop watching the show with Darrel in charge. I've always hated this character as I think he adds nothing to the show and it's whole. He was better off as a warehouse worker where we only saw him once in a while but I'm not liking him as the branch manager. The guy isn't management material I mean come on. I really hope the writers don't put him in charge.

Having said all that and taking all names into consideration my gut feeling for who will take over the show as new Branch Manager is Andy Bernard. I think Ed Helms is the big draw right now what with the success of his movie career and I think the Office writers and producers will need someone with that star power who can keep the audience tuning in each week. I think Ed Helms will energize a new life into a show that come this September is entering it's 8th season, something that is not easily done people.

If it isn't going to be Helms, I think James Spader is a definite contender as I'm pretty sure he hasn't signed up for any new fall pilots so his name has to be taken into consideration. He showed tonight he can be funny, interact well with other cast members like Jim, Toby and Dwight and can bring something new and fresh to the show. Not to mention he is a pretty successful and very talented sitcom star.

Other side notes about tonight's episode:
-Phyllis is not Erin's mother, didn't think the show would go that route and I'm glad to see they didn't...that would of been a bit awkward and a really moment if you ask me.

-I hope this sticks...Gabe is moving back to Florida with Jo and leaving the branch. Hated his character from the beginning and I think this will be a good move for the branch and the show.

-Andy and Erin...they will get back together and I think it is a story that will be carried out throughout season 8.

-Angela marrying the supposed 'gay' senator and rubbing it in everyone's faces. A storyline I could really care less about.

Overall this season definitely had some high moments while also suffering through some low ones as well. The last couple of episodes that featured Michael were some of the most genuine and heartfelt the show has ever produced and it's only going to get tougher to replace him and his legacy.

What does the future hold for this once very esteemed show, only time will tell. The people behind the scenes need to make a tough decision this summer to whose taking over the branch because it's going to be a move that ultimately keeps the show going for a couple of more years or be a choice that results in season 8 being the last season of the show.

See you guys back at Dunder Mifflin this fall.

Thursday tidbits...

Hello friends, here's some interesting little nuggets of information I've stumbled across today:

-Todd Phillips, director of The Hangover and Hangover 2 has said he has a loose idea for a third and final Hangover and it's a new concept that no one has really seen before.

-Fans of How I Met Your Mother who were left wanting more after the season finale aka MYSELF, TIM...should be delighted to know season 7 is going to be one for the ages with a lot of big things in store for our gang. The creators promise that the November sweeps episodes are going to be game changers for the show...I can't wait!

-Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell are set to team up again in a turkey football comedy movie scheduled for release in either 2012/2013.

TK's Take on Seth MacFarlane rebooting The Flintstones

In a rather interesting bit of news I stumbled across today was the piece about how Seth MacFarlane the genius behind Family Guy, American Dad and The Cleveland Show is apparently scooping up all the rights to reboot The Flintstones and place it on Sunday nights in the animation domination block of his shows. Word of advice Seth, can I call you Seth? Let's not ruin a good thing please. Those are classic characters and is just a show in my opinion that shouldn't be tampered with. You've already done enough to ruin Family Guy for me because that show is no where near the good quality it used to be. Jokes are reused and bits are inserted into an episode for four to five minute chunks at a time, it's like the writers couldn't think of anything and I think that that is an insult to loyal fans of the show, correct me if I'm wrong here?

Family Guy at it's ultimate pinnacle was as funny as anything that has ever aired on television. The random cutaways and flashbacks were pee in your pants funny and was something that was really never done on TV before. But now the show is seeming to fall very fast from atop the once proud mountain top and as a loyal fan of the show for years and years, I'm starting to not even care about the show anymore, just like I did with The Simpsons.

But for Seth to now turn his attention to another project aka The Flintstones it just seems utterly stupid and pointless to bring them back into the 21st century. His other shows will more then likely suffer more because he is no longer fully focusing on them. Family Guy was great when he only focused on that show but once American Dad came along and then The Cleveland Show, that was the downfall of Family Guy in my mind. The second Cleveland left the show Family Guy was no longer funny and I can't recall a classic episode of FG in many years. You look back at the old ones and you're dying cause you're laughing so hard.

I can't be the only one who feels this way and so I want to hear from you guys as well. What do you think about this? Will you be watching a new twist on our favorite Bedrock characters? Or will Seth and company ruin that for you also?

TK's Takeout: Thor Review

Well my friends, the official box office season got underway with the release of Thor this past weekend.

If you're like me then this film was certainly an intriguing one to say the very least. Heading into the film I didn't know much about the origins of Thor and his stories in the comics but I knew enough to set up a ground base for the film.

That being said and after seeing the film I have to give you guys my honest opinion of the film and that is, it was a good film but far too slow moving for my liking. I understand that this film is the first in the characters history and its purpose is to introduce us to a whole new man and world but the time it takes the movie to do so just drags on for too long.

The movie opens up with a team of scientists headed by Jane (Natalie Portman) who are investigating these disturbances in the sky and are trying to see if it ties into their research. All of a sudden this storm starts to happen and Thor is beamed down to Earth and is hit by Jane's car. Cue the flashback to see how exactly Thor was banished and we are taken away to Asgard, the home realm to Thor and his people. The visual appearance of the city is breathtaking and the films creators did a terrific job at bringing this historic mythological city to the big screen.

Thor's father, Odin, is played brilliantly by the wonderful Anthony Hopkins and he portrays a true God like figure in the film. He is strong, powerful and a confident king who appears ready to hand over the reigns to his first born son Thor but only before there is a break in to their weapons vault. Thor and his team of elite warriors want to venture out to Jotunheim, the home of the frost giants who are responsible for breaking into Asgard, but doing so could spell war for the two realms.

There we are treated to the first major battle scene in the movie and I must say the visual effects used were tremendous. Thor's swinging of his mighty hammer were truly a spectacle to watch on the screen and the fights were very well choreographed and the frost giants used in the movie were quite good as well.

After Thor engages what seems hundreds of these frost giants he breaks the treaty these two nations have and trouble ensues and war is on the horizon. The king then curses his son from Asgard taking away his powers and his mighty hammer sending them to Earth as well.

Thor is a very funny movie as well. There are a lot of great one liners our God of Thunder says because well, he is a stranger to our universe and has no idea of how things work down here. With the guidance of Thor, Jane slowly begins to put the pieces of the puzzle together and Thor opens up to her about his world and the other realms out there that he and his people are in charge of protecting but all of that is challenged by the frost giants and traders within Asgard's own borders.

The film if you're a fan of the Marvel universe also offers us a first glance of another Avenger, Hawkeye played by Jeremy Renner, sorry if I spoiled that for anyone!

Ultimately what Thor tells in story, the film lacks in action and I'm going to be honest I could of used a lot more action. I thought the story was very easy to follow and is something that any new fan can relate to and understand and the film has something for everyone.

The acting is very good in the movie highlighted I think by Hemsworth, Portman and Hopkins respectively and while the story does jump from realm to realm at times it isn't that complicated and the film ends at a good spot setting up the inevitable sequel, which Marvel has already confirmed, there will be a Thor 2.

Thor earns a 3 out of 4 star rating on the TK Scale and if you're a fan of the Thor comics, you will most likely enjoy this movie.

TK Spotlight: Lady Gaga HBO Concert Special

So if you guys weren't aware this past weekend the Lady Gaga Concert special that was recorded in Madison Square Garden aired on HBO. I myself have been a Lady Gaga fan from the time that Poker Face came out and have liked most of the songs she has released since then.

I have to say after watching this special I enjoy her even more. She is a true performer in every sense of the word. She puts so much thought into her performances and she wants to make sure that the fans are getting what they paid for, a good show. I found it interesting to see what she addressed during the special as well, for instance, the topic of her lip-singing.

And to that she replied I have never lip singed nor will I ever. Just because someone dances and sings at the same time doesn't mean they are lip singing. She is on her way to becoming mentioned with the likes of the King of Pop Michael Jackson. Showmanship wise and the dedication each had to their fan base and their concerts is so similar and quite obvious when you see the both of them perform. Michael's ability to dance like that and still have the energy to sing for a two hour set is astonishing and the same can be said for Gaga. She puts just as much energy into her stage set up, costumes and of course the choreography.

She is giving it 110% each and every time out and wants to put her staple on music history. (She already is) I'm writing this just because I am a fan of her and while many people call her 'out there,' 'weird' and 'strange' she is certainly not what others call her, untalented. She is in my opinion one of the most talented people that the world has ever seen and I would go as far to call her the most influential artist during my life time. Think about it? What other artists in the last 25 years has come onto the music scene and taken it by the horns and made it their own? No one comes to my mind, but please if you can think of someone do share your thoughts.

Gaga is in a class of her own and I think she will only continue to get bigger and better. Her new CD Born This Way arrives in a couple of weeks and it is going to be an enormous hit. It'll be something people are probably talking about for a long long time, but whether you like it or not, Gaga is talented, inspirational and is someone that is taking the music industry by storm and turning it on it's feet with each new song she releases.

The Office: Inner Circle Recap

Dear my fellow followers of The Office:

Tonight's recap isn't going to be in great detail because if you're like me you are left scratching your head asking 'What did I just watch?' Maybe I'm too much of a TV critic I don't know but if this is the best that the creative team behind the Office could do tonight then the future of the show is in serious jeopardy without Michael Scott.

Tonight's episode centered around DeAngelo and his inner circle friends. Jim, Kevin, Gabe and Darrel made up the inner circle and left many outsiders feeling alone and upset that they weren't part of the crew, mainly Andy Bernard. This also leads to the women of Dunder Mifflin to come to Jim and say that DeAngelo is a sexist and doesn't treat everyone equally and with respect. So of course Jim brings this up to DeAngelo and what happens to Jim? He gets kicked out of the inner circle only to be replaced by Andy.

From there the show which started off poorly, takes a turn for the worst and fast. The inner circle is seen creating a lot of noise and so when Pam goes to ask them to quiet down we see that they are getting treated to a dunking session by DeAngelo. Are you freaking kidding me here? Seriously? This is the best thing that the writers could come up with for tonight's show?

So of course Jim likes to play with him and challenges DeAngelo to go show the entire staff what he has got with a real ball and a real hoop. So Jim measures out the distance that DeAngelo will have to jump in order to dunk the ball and of course he can't pull it off so what happens? DeAngelo jumps and dunks the ball from about a foot away and pulls the entire basketball hoop down on him sending him to the hospital. Hooray the best thing to happen all night.

I'll tell you what my friends, if Will Ferrell is brought on board for an entire season instead of just a mini arc (he only signed up for four episodes and tonight was episode 4) I might quit watching this show, that is how badly Will Ferrell has ruined my all time favorite show. In his four episodes he has added so few laughs and has proven in my eyes to not mesh at all with the current cast which is fine by itself.

NBC had better pray they find a good fitting big celebrity name to fit in with this show's cast not named Will Ferrell. I can't be the only one who hates him on this show this much right? I personally think that by the season finale which is in two weeks we will know who is taking over the Dunder Mifflin branch and I have my own thoughts on who it should be, which I'll share at a later date and time.

But if tonight is any indication on how the show would be with Will Ferrell in charge well NBC you have just lost a die hard viewer, because I couldn't tolerate him for an entire season.

TK's Takeout Weekly 'Sound Off'

Hello everybody,

So as I was at work today my boss Tommy (name shoutout) suggested something that I could implement into the blog and I loved it so much I decided to run with it. The sound off though is not about me, it's about you guys. Here's how it is going to work.

I will present a topic at the beginning of each week and I want you guys to comment on it. At the end of the week I will provide you all with my take on the subject, using thoughts and comments that you guys leave in my take so that we all get our points across and so it's not just one sided. So please leave me your thoughts and tell your friends to leave their comments as well.

So the first ever topic for the brand new TK's Takeout 'Sound Off':

As we all know Osama Bin Laden was just recently killed by the United States military in a coordinated effort led by our troops. So after the news broke, people all over Facebook were sharing their thoughts and feelings and were often celebrating the fact that this man was killed.

So the question is, was it wrong or right to celebrate Bin Laden's death on a public forum like Facebook? Is it wrong to celebrate a man's death?

Let the posting begin!!!

TK's Take on Steve Carell's Final Episode of The Office

My apologies to those who were expecting to see my review of last night's episode entitled 'Goodbye Michael,' I had a friends party to attend but don't worry I had my things in order, it was watching the episode first then the party, there was no way I was going to miss this historic television event!

So my fellow Dunder Mifflin friends, is it me or do you feel off today? If you love the show like I do it feels weird to think that next week, for the first time in seven years we're going to see an episode of The Office without Michael Scott running the ship. Give it a minute to sink in if you must but we must come to grips with it sooner then later even if we don't want too. If anyone from NBC does happen to come across this (hey I can dream) I beg you as a fan please do not extend Will Ferrell's stay on the show. What I have been thinking was proven correct last night, if he stays on the show, it will go south fast. Call me crazy but he just doesn't fit in with this cast. He comes across loud and flamboyant and just doesn't mesh with the current group of people on it. Watching him lsat night go on that sales call with Andy was just painful and the way he came across wasn't funny. I wasn't laughing one bit with that.

But anyways onto what is most important here and that's the departure of Michael Scott. I absolutely loved everything about how he said goodbye to people because it was all so moving and touching and you can call me a big softie if you want but that's the kind of episodes I like the best. Loved him on the top of the building as he was becoming more acclimated to the higher altitudes that he'll be facing when he moves to Colorado. I immediately loved his interaction with Dwight and how he should prepare himself for the bears he could be coming in contact with as well. No you don't put salami in your pants. Too damn funny!

I thought the way they handled his goodbye last night was done to perfection. I loved how he was leaving that day and not the next just like he was telling everyone, thought it was genius. For me though the most touching moments were the personal goodbyes he did with a few of the cast members and I'd like to touch on a few now. First I loved his goodbye with Dwight. I'll be honest I didn't see that letter of recommendation coming and for me the thing that made that scene so awesome and powerful was the tremendous reaction Dwight gets when he reads that letter. Such good acting is done by Rainn Wilson in this moment it made me want to cry, ok fine, made me cry, this is the first of many times I'll admit to you guys I cried, like I said I'm a softie, but anyways. The two of them playing paintball together and goofing around for the last time it was something special to watch.

Another goodbye moment that stood out to me was him talking with Erin. (By the way I hate Gabe and everything about him, show could do without him, that's just me.) He really did become like a father figure to her as the show progressed and I thought it was such a touching final moment the two had as he kissed her on the top of the head and said you don't need a mother when you got me, was truly special.

But I want to save the best two goodbyes for last. First up was the moment when Jim goes into Michael's office and realizes that Michael is leaving today. That scene, the two to three minutes that it was, was so truly emotional and vintage Office, I instantly was tearing up. Jim who really was fond of Michael showed such sadness that he was leaving and only wanted him to be happy and reminded Michael that he was absolutely doing the right thing by moving to Colorado with Holly. The exchange back and forth was so well executed and written and it has really become maybe one of my ultimate favorite moments the show has ever done.

The whole time Michael is crossing off his goodbye list, one name remained, Pam. So while Pam is out doing her own thing, Michael is on his way to the airport for his last on screen time with us the audience at home. This to me is the best scene the show has ever done period. After Michael takes off his microphone and gives out a classic that's what she said, Pam rushes into the airport to say her goodbye to Michael and the silent goodbye was perfect. I don't think we needed to hear what they were saying because honestly we kind of already knew. Michael and Pam sure they butted heads throughout the course of the show, but there was a real special connection the two of them shared and it was executed perfectly in that silent goodbye moment. Cue back to Pam telling the camera crew that he is happy he gets to see Holly tonight and that he gets to spend the rest of his life with her. It was so touching and moving how could you not cry.

All in all my friends, I feel a bit more sad now after writing this because it got me thinking about the episode again. Thank God for my DVR because I'll probably watch it again tonight, tomorrow and the next night if only to catch another glimpse of the brilliance that is Michael Scott and the genius that is Steve Carell. Thank you so much for the wonderful memories Steve, you're truly a great comedic actor and the show will never be the same without you!!!

And that my friends is TK's take.

TK

Other random funny moments:

-Michael's goodbye with Oscar, Angela and Phyllis.

-Creed coming out of the woman's bathroom.

-Andy stepping up to the plate and signing that client.

-Oscar's look into the camera when Angela is showing Michael the pictures.

-Michael's goodbye with Kevin and telling Kevin never to be satisfied with who you are.

-Toby telling Michael he has a brother in Coloardo, how freaking funny was that!

TK's Takeout: Top 10 Must See Summer Movies: 2 & 1

Well boys and girls, the climax of the countdown has come and it is time for me to unveil the two movies you won't want to miss this summer. After the past couple of days it really is no surprise why I chose these two movies a few days ago to be at the top of my countdown, they are going to be awesome ends to two extremely popular franchises. They both have die hard loyal fan bases who are going to rush out to midnight showings all over the world and make these two movies, two of the highest grossing films of 2011. But before I unveil the top 2 dogs, here's a look at numbers 10-3:

10. Green Lantern
9. Cowboys and Aliens
8. Bad Teacher
7. Friends With Benefits
6. The Hangover Part 2
5. Crazy Stupid Love
4. Thor
3. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Now drum roll please, my pick for the number 2 must see movie of the summer goes too:

2. Transformers: Dark of the Moon, opens July 1st, stars Shia LaBeouf, John Turturro, Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson.
TK's Quick Take- Without a moments hesitation did I know that T3 was going to be near the top of my list and after the trailer debuted yesterday I almost flipped flopped it with number one but I just couldn't pull the trigger. I thought about doing a 1A and 1B thing but that wouldn't be fair to anyone. This movie is going to be different and way better then Transformers 2 and I'll tell you why.

T2 was a rushed script. No one could predict the success that T1 was going to have and the studio, like all studios do after a huge commercial hit, want a sequel and they want it out fast, no matter the results. T2 translated into a lot and I mean a lot of big box office dollars but left many critics and fans slamming the movie. It was actually one of the worst reviewed movies of the year, T2 that is. Transformers: Dark of the Moon is also written by a new writer this time around and it should provide a new refreshed plot for us to follow. Director Michael Bay says this is going to be his last Transformers movie, but something tells me it won't be! This movie is also Megan Fox less, and thank God. She doesn't bring or add anything to this franchise and I think this movie will be better off without her! Look for unbelievable visual affects along with the blowing of shit up, epic battles between the Autobots and Decepticons and most importantly a fantastic end to this exciting franchise.

TK's Takeout Summer Prediction: This movie I think will be one of the top 3 grossing movies of the year. People are going to flock to this movie in big numbers and I think that we are all going to be very pleasantly surprised at how good of a story this one is, not to mention the fights, I mean the fights are going to be awesome, and if you don't believe me, watch this trailer below!

Trailer-

Now the time has come, nine movies up and nine movies down, and just one remains. So without further delay I proudly present to you my number one movie:

1. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, opens July 15th, stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson and Ralph Fiennes.
TK's Quick Take- If you were like me, then you were left wanting so much more after Deathly Hallows Part 1 ended with Voldemort stealing the Elder Wand from Dumbledore's grave. (Side note- how bad ass was that scene!) I remember the first Harry Potter movie coming out years ago and it seems almost sad to think about that this is going to be the last one ever made, it's the final chapter of a truly epic saga of movies. For those of you who haven't read the books I won't spoil anything for you but needless to say if you thought HP7 Part 1 was slow, then my friends, Part 2 is going to take you on an action pack ride you won't soon forget.

This movie is going to be non-stop in your face action, epic battle scenes, the race to destroy the remaining horcruxes and of course the showdown between Voldemort and Harry. I'm getting giddy just typing this out my friends, that's how excited I am for this movie. You will be thrilled along this ride, saddened and most of all entertained while watching this movie. It's going to be such an amazing movie to see on screen because for those of you who did read the book you know how intense the final book is. I for one can not wait to see the finished product this July and if the trailer is any indication, we are all going to be very satisfied.

TK's Takeout Summer Prediction: The number one movie on my countdown will also be the highest grossing movie of 2011 and could challenge some opening weekend dollar records as well, you heard it here first!!!

Trailer-

Thanks to everyone who checked out my countdown and left me comments. Again leave me comments and let me know what you're top 2 movies are for this year. Do you agree with my picks or disagree, sound off!

And I'll see you at the movies this summer!!!

TK

Friday's Entertainment Dish...

-Arnold Schwarzennger has chosen Cry Macho as his next film.

-Steven Soderbergh and Channing Tatum are teaming up for a stripper comedy movie; rumored to be called Magic Mike.

-Charlie Sheen is at the war of words again with Two and a Half Men Creator Chuck Lorre, says that show is doomed without him.

TK's Takeout: Top 10 Must See Summer Movies: 4 & 3

Hello avid movie fans...are we enjoying the countdown so far? I bet a lot of you were surprised to see the Hangover part 2 so low on my countdown but there are a lot of good movies coming out this summer and I had to make some difficult decisions. Up next on this list are numbers 4 and 3. One pertains to an epic warrior while the other refers to a captain of legendary honor and dignity, well maybe not that last one. But before I unveil those two movies, let's take a quick look at numbers 10-5.

5. crazy stupid love
6. hangover 2
7. friends with benefits
8. bad teacher
9. cowboys vs aliens
10. green lantern

So without further delay here is my number four must see movie this summer:

4. Thor, opens May 6th, stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston and Anthony Hopkins.
TK's Quick Take- Finally the God of thunder has received his own movie. I'm a huge superhero nerd, if you couldn't tell already, and when I heard they were making a big screen version of Thor I was giddy to say the least. I love the selection of going with an unknown actor, Hemsworth, to play Thor, because this will allow him to portray Thor as he sees fit and to ultimately play him in future movies, alas, The Avengers and most likely Thor sequels.

Throw in Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins and this cast is dynamite. The story sounds very promising and the trailers have left me wanting so much more. I don't know too much about Thor but I am very excited to see his story unfold on the big screen in a couple of weeks from now. I think Thor will be an excellent movie and if done right should be a very big box office grosser. The action and visual affects look to be very well done and I expect big things from Thor this May.

TK's Takeout Summer Prediction: I think Thor will start May off with a bang. I think it will go straight to number one at the box office and fans will be very happy after leaving the theaters wanting much much more.

Trailer-

3. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, opens May 20th, stars Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Ian McShane and Penelope Cruz.
TK's Quick Take- I'll just go ahead and say it, I love Johnny Depp and I have loved all three of the previous Pirate movies. I was beyond excited when I heard they were doing a fourth pirates movie and that Depp would be reprising the role of our favorite Captain Jack Sparrow. Sure Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley are gone, but who needs them? This franchise is so widely loved and adored by all genres, that it is going to be a world wide smash without them.

I was rather excited to hear that McShane and Cruz were cast in this movie because they both bring something new to the screen then in previous installments. McShane as the infamous pirate Blackbeard and Cruz playing a mysterious woman from Sparrow's past should add both mystery and excitement to the franchise. Throw in mermaids, zombies and the fountain of youth and you have an adventure film that will surely be a must see movie this summer. I am already just waiting to hear when tickets will go on sale for P4 because like many out there I will be there opening weekend ready to set sail with Captain Jack and the rest of his God forsaken crew!!!

TK's Takeout Summer Prediction: Will open to huge box office dollars and when is all said and done will show that even after a couple of years away, the pirates franchise is still alive and kicking!!! Will be one of 2011's top 10 grossing films!!!

Trailer-

So guys, what do you think? Are you excited for Thor, the God of Thunder? And are you excited to set sail again with Captain Jack Sparrow and his crew of mis-fits? Let me know what you think and be sure to check back tomorrow for numbers 2 and 1!!!

TK

Hey guys, sorry about Idol again

If you may have noticed there was no American Idol recap for the second straight week, I do apologize because I had to work last night and didn't have time to watch the show to review it. And the same will be said for next Wed. too, I have to work the closing shift so there won't be an Idol recap.

Lots of big TV events tonight and none bigger then The Office and Steve Carell's last episode, happy viewing!

TK's Takeout: Top 10 Must See Summer Movies: 6 & 5

I hope everybody has been enjoying the countdown so far? I have gotten some positive feedback from my selections to date and with my next two picks, some might question why I have one of these movies so far down on the countdown. Well, to answer that, there are just so many good movies coming out this summer and it was rather hard to put them in an order, but I had to and that's why all the movies landed where they are. Up next are two movies both of the same genre but both containing completely different plots. So without further a due here's a look at the next two movies on TK's Top 10 Must See Summer Movies!!!

A quick recap:
10. Green Lantern
9. Cowboys and Aliens
8. Bad Teacher
7. Friends with Benefits

6. The Hangover Part 2, out May 26th, stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and Ken Jeong.
TK's Quick Take- If the first movie you make becomes the highest grossing comedy of all time and becomes one of the most talked about and quoted movies of all-time, what is a major studio to do? Hmm...how about round up the director and cast of the first one and make a sequel and let chaos run rapid again, check! The gang is all back for a second go and friends, I can not freaking wait! From the second they announced they were doing another Hangover, I'll be quite honest, I was as giddy as a school girl.

I loved the original and I know what many people are thinking, are they going to ruin this one? To be honest, we won't know til we see it for ourselves and of course everyone will judge it in their own way, but I don't think they will. Sure it might not be as funny as the original, but very few sequels are as good as their predecessor, but with this cast and crew, we're certain of one thing, laughing. The trailer looks very promising and you just want to know how they got into their state of mind and what mischief they got into and I for one will be in my theater seat popcorn in hand on opening night to see the chaos that the wolfpack gets into. And chances are I'll skip the drink because I have a feeling I'll wanna pee my pants from the laughing!

TK's Takeout Summer Prediction- Opens Memorial Day and what better way to spend Memorial Day then at the movies with friends, seeing the Wolfpack making us fall out of our seats and causing stomach pain from non-stop laughing. Also will be a huge money maker as well.

Trailer-

5. Crazy Stupid Love, out July 29th, stars Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore and Emma Stone.
TK's Quick Take- I've been hearing a lot about this movie since it was in early development and I had to say I was rather excited to hear the premise of this movie and it's a good one. A man (Carell) has the American dream life going for him until his wife (Moore) unexpectedly wants a divorce. So of course he hasn't been on the dating scene for a while and is thrown into the wilderness with no game. Insert the player (Gosling) who takes him under his wings to try and pick up women and from there things just go all over the place.

The first trailer, see below, looks very promising. This cast contains a lot of great comedic actors and I think this movie should be a little bit more on the serious side too, maybe along the lines of Dan in Real Life, who knows? I think it's going to be a very funny movie and have it's sensitive scenes as well that will provide something for a wide range of audience and make a nice little date night movie for you couples out there!

TK's Takeout Summer Prediction- Opens in late July and by that time the big blockbusters will have come and gone. I think it will do quite well as Carell is getting a lot of attention post 'Office' career and with a star loaded cast, I think this will be a movie that appeals to all ages and genres.

Trailer-

So what do you think of these movie picks my friends? Agree or disagree, leave/post a comment below and let me know what your thoughts are on these two choices, and check back here Thursday for numbers 4 and 3 on my Top 10 Countdown.

TK

TK's Takeout: Top 10 Must See Summer Movies: 8 & 7

Well hello friends,

It is day two of my Top 10 Summer Movie Countdown and I'm glad to see that you guys have been checking back to see what my choices are. If you missed yesterday's obviously scroll down and find it on the home page of the blog or here's a quick little recap of numbers 10-9:

10. Green Lantern
9. Cowboys and Aliens

So on deck today we have numbers 8 and 7, both comedies with star loaded casts so without further delay I proudly present the next two movies that you won't want to miss this summer:

8. Bad Teacher, out June 24th, stars Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake, Jason Segal and Eric Stonestreet.
TK's Quick Take- When I heard the premise of this movie I didn't even have to see a trailer to know I would wait in line for this movie. The combination alone of Diaz, Timberlake and Segal already had me falling out of my chair laughing out loud. Then the debut trailer comes out and my suspicions were proven true, it's going to be one funny ass movie.

The movie follows Diaz a young, lazy and naive teacher who just doesn't care about her job until a new substitute teacher moves in to the school (Timberlake) and she can't help but try to get his attention but in order to do so, she feels the need to get a certain part of her body enhanced. And in order to do so she must win a contest with the students she constantly neglects and bashes. Cue the laughs please! I already see myself quoting one-liners from this movie and with a lot of good comedic actors in one movie, what can go wrong? This movie has the potential to be a box office hit from early trailers, and I'll be first in line to see it this June.

TK's Takeout Summer Prediction- It's going to be a great funny ass movie!

Trailer-

7. Friends with Benefits, out July 22nd, stars Justin Timberlake, Mila Kunis, Woody Harrelson and Emma Stone.
TK's Quick Take- The concept of the movie is certainly an intriguing one to most and then you throw in Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis and you have a pretty good recipe for what is shaping up to be a pretty promising movie. The concept is simple. Two friends who use one another for sex and remain friends. But of course we all know how that tale plays out. The early trailer, see below, is so freaking hysterical, I am expecting a lot of big things.

Many thought this movie wouldn't work because well No Strings Attached just came out and is pretty much an exact same plot line, but I think the story will be different and Justin is on a role with anything he does lately and Mila is fresh off her performance in Black Swan which has earned her a lot of attention and deservedly so, she is a good actress and is only getting better. I look for this movie to have a lot of funny moments and of course for both the guys and girls in attendance some shots of both Justin and Mila in the flesh, so we all will have something to look forward to. But needless to say, I expect FWB to be a very laugh out loud funny movie, that will make a great date night!

TK's Takeout Summer Prediction- The chemistry between Timberlake and Kunis is funny in itself, and will translate into a must see movie that audiences will definitely flock too!

Trailer-

Sound off guys and let me know what you think. Post your comments and thoughts about the trailers below. Will you be checking out these movies I just spotlighted, please let me know. Check back tomorrow afternoon for numbers 6 and 5!!!

TK's Takeout: Top 10 Must See Summer Movies: 10 & 9

Hello friends and followers of my blog, how are you?

For those of you who know me well, you know I'm a huge fan of not just going to the movies, but am a big fan of the summer blockbuster season. I like to get a head start and see what projects are coming out early so in turn I can provide you guys with the scoop on Hollywood's most anticipated movies for the upcoming summer season.

For the last few years; including my time at the Lewis Flyer Newspaper I would always do a preview for the biggest summer movies. That countdown usually consisted of just five movies but this year with a brand new blog must come a bigger and brand new countdown. So I decided to double my efforts and preview the top 10 films for the summer in greater depth and detail. So without further a due, let's get started with number 10.

And thanks to you guys responding to one of my postings, I will be unveiling two movies each day with number one being revealed at the end of the week!!!

10. Green Lantern, out June 17th, stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively and Mark Strong.
TK's Quick Take- This movie boasts a pretty solid cast and Ryan Reynolds seems to be the hottest actor in Hollywood lately, and I'm not referencing his looks. His recent films have all been pretty successful commercial hits and people are starting to notice he can really act, so why not put him into the infamous Green Lantern world. A world that has been dying to get to the big screen for quite some time.

The early trailer had me scratching my head but as the new images and trailers and have come online, I'm starting to become a believer. I expect the movie to be a hit with viewers for two reasons. First, people always flock to superhero movies. Take for instance the past few years. The Iron Man franchise and the Batman franchise have been box office titans and while I don't expect Green Lantern to touch Iron Man or Batman type numbers I think people will still check this movie out. There are supposed to be hundreds and hundreds of digital CGI shots so hopefully the finished product doesn't look too fake.

TK's Takeout Summer Prediction- Will be a hit and prove Ryan Reynolds is one of the true leading men in Hollywood now!

Trailer-

9. Cowboys & Aliens, out July 29th, stars Daniel Craig, Olivia Wilde and Harrison Ford.
TK's Quick Take- So if the cast doesn't get you take a look at whose behind the scenes of this movie. Executive producer Steven Spielberg, producers Brian Grazer and Ron Howard and directed by Jon Favreau, whose most recent films include oh yeah Iron Man 1 and 2. If you don't recognize any of these names well then you're no movie buff like me, just kidding. This movie can't fail with the cast and crew behind it and from what I've been seeing and hearing this movie looks to become a big summer blockbuster.

If the title doesn't intrigue you what will? Cowboys and Aliens battling it out, sign me up. You have James Bond and Indiana Jones in the same movie, I mean come on people, what more do we need? But all kidding aside, Cowboys and Aliens is going to be a film you won't want to miss. Daniel Craig is apparently kidnapped by the aliens and is returned to Earth wearing some mysterious bracelet that apparently becomes active when the Aliens are near and can shoot down their space craft. Explosions, suspense and a talented group of actors should make for a very worthwhile film and I'm thinking a surprise summer hit.

TK's Takeout Summer Prediction- Cast and crew are some of the biggest names Hollywood has to offer and the story won't be cheesy, so expect a lot of big dollars and positive reviews for Cowboys and Aliens.

The Office: The Return of the Dundees

Ladies and gentlemen, I stand before you a new man. I verbally expressed my hatred for last week's show and questioned whether or not the show could survive post Steve Carell. Heading into tonight's episode and knowing they were doing the second ever Dundee Awards, the last being early in season 2; I had high hopes.

Well, after just finishing this episode my friends, my faith has been restored through the freaking roof. What a spectacular episode we all just witnessed. The lines, the moments both sad and funny and of course the awards themselves, all blended so well with one another and quite frankly it left me wanting and yearning for more.

Let's start with the show's opener. Over the years there have been some openers, but tonight's opener may be my favorite one to date. Michael and DeAngelo going to their co-workers house to let them know personally they have been nominated for a Dundee Award. First up the Halperts. Jim answers the door with bed head and is absolutely shocked to see them standing there and what makes the bit so funny is him telling Pam to stay in the bedroom, don't get up. Cue them next going to Toby's house and throwing eggs at it, simply another priceless moment between Michael and Toby. And last but not least and what shall go down as an epic moment the walk of shame we see Meredith doing. Beat down house, door wide open but yet she has sausages and napkins. Loved the line that DeAngleo says, this reminds me of Katrina.

The two of them played so well together in this episode, a huge turn around from last week's awkward play. Of course Michael who is leaving us wants to train a co-host to take over his legacy, aka his awards and chooses DeAngelo over Dwight, which of course angers Dwight. However, what we don't know is that DeAngelo has a little problem with stage fright and doesn't know how to be quick and witty so Michael calls a conference meeting to help him get over that. Loved the banter between Kevin, Jim and the rest of the gang. Some priceless moments and some great lines as well.

But let's get on to the highlight of the show, the awards themselves. Cue the opening segment with Michael playing other people in the office. I almost fell out of bed when he was portraying Jim, my lord. I texted Brendan immediately while I was watching him, what a scene and a rather good impersonation as well. Father of the year and mother of the year goes to Jim and Pam, sorry what? Meredith? Yes Meredith takes home the mother of the year awards and I love the fact that Dwight wants a picture of the two winners, simply amazing. The diabetes award goes to Stanley and I loved Phyllis saying to the camera, I have diabetes but you don't see me making a big deal about it. God I love her! Then the moment I'm so glad finally happened. The end of Erin and Gabe. The way in which it was handled was so perfect, awkward and laugh out loud funny rolled into one delicious scene. Erin just after accepting her red head hair award says she doesn't feel attracted to Gabe and that she is with the wrong person. (Side note- Andy and Erin will become a couple again and that should feature prominent in the show as it moves forward, just a TK speculation.)

But in one of the more touching moments of the evening, the gang all heads back to the office and they finish out the awards, not before Andy accepts his award for being a college pot head does the whole gang break into song. I absolutely loved it. The tears that Michael has you know are genuine and real because as they're filming this it's gotta be emotional. Sure he's acting, but you just know deep down it means something so much more to be filming some of his last scene's ever on the show. It's been a part of his life for seven seasons now and it's his second to last episode. I found it so touching and yes moving the song and I loved the whole thing.

This show continues to prove while it's one of the best shows to come around in a long time. Next week's episode is going to honestly make me cry and I'm not afraid to say it. I have loved this show ever since my good friend Brendan told me about it. I have become so invested in the show and I love the characters portrayed on it. Steve Carell as Michael Scott to me is truly one of the best TV characters of all-time. Yes all-time. His departure next week is going to be one full of laughs but I'm so anxious to see him say goodbye to not just the fans of the show, that being us at home, but how he handles saying goodbye to specific people in the office, like Jim, Pam and Dwight, and of course Toby.

It's going to be one hell of a roller coaster next week and I'll have a tissue in hand because if you've been a fan of the show like me and have loved it through good times and in bad, the departure of our favorite and true boss of Dunder Mifflin is going to be one for the record books, and will be one that lasts with us for many years to come!!!

See you all back here next week for my recap of Michael Scott's final episode!!!

The Office: Training Day Recap

Well as the departure of Steve Carell looms over the world of The Office, we got our first look at new addition to the show for a four episode guest arc (and after tonight hopefully nothing more) Will Ferrell. My expectations for this show were very high and I have to be honest with all of you, I'm not liking what I'm seeing with this episode and quite frankly I'm a bit worried after seeing this episode.

I thought the opening scene was somewhat funny, the two of them sitting on opposite ends of the bar and then making their way to sitting next to one another before ultimately realizing that the guy each of them is waiting for is the person right next to them. And then as the rest of the staff is introduced to DeAngelo things just took a turn for the worst in my opinion.

I wasn't really a fan of everyone trying to impress DeAngelo as it got old rather fast. Take for instance, Andy doing his stupid over the top gags to impress him as the funny guy of the office. Only one problem, not funny. Darryl trying to impress him by pretending the southwest region is his favorite region, give me a break. We can't turn these characters into something that their not. I understand the path the writers took here in this episode to try and impress the new boss, because well, we all have done that before. I just don't like the way they went about it tonight, too over the top and just bits that weren't funny or memorable.

I still think the right move for this show is to have someone from the staff take over and not hire an outside actor. I firmly believe that the cast they have now is more then enough to carry the show and a big name Hollywood actor would just throw off the vibe of the show, alas tonight's episode with Ferrell. Dwight, Jim and Andy provide more then enough potential to take over the branch and I would kill to see Dwight lead the branch for an entire season, just think of the chaos that he would create.

Sure Jim has done it before but that was handled so poorly by the show because he was never manager, just co-manager. I think in the show's reality, Jim is one of the smartest characters on the show and has the brains to run a branch, heck he went to corporate and applied for Jan's position before ultimately coming back to ask Pam out for a date. And Andy sure he may not be the best at sales, but something within me says Andy Bernard is no quitter, but a winner and he would prove to others he could handle the responsibilities of being a branch manager.

Quite frankly if this is what it might be like post Carell, then as a die hard fan, I'm a little worried. Maybe I'm being too harsh just after one episode with Will Ferrell but as I said earlier, it never really took off for me and that worries me. The cast doesn't need an outside to come in and throw off the balance of the show that we all have become so comfortable with. Will Ferrell is a movie star, not a TV sitcom star and I think after tonight that was shown. I hope for the show's sake and for Carell's sake this doesn't backfire big time.

The show is too well-written most of the time and too thought out too go down the toilet now. Will Ferrell last I heard has only booked a four episode arc so he'll be around for three more episodes and I'm hoping that he does not become a series regular because if that happens, The Office might be closing up shop for good.

American Idol Top 8 Movie Recap

American Idol Top 8:

Well boys and girls, I predicted two of the three bottom three last week but never and I mean never did I picture Pia being sent home. I considered her to be the strongest contestant on the show and I like all who watched the results show last week were left in complete shock. So let’s see if I can sharpen my senses this week and predict whose going home correctly.

Theme- Music from the Movies

Paul McDonald sings; Old Time Rock and Roll

TK Take- I fast forwarded this performance because it was awful. His voice sounded absolutely terrible and he didn’t do this classic song any justice. Seriously why is he on the show. I think this week America will forget that he was even on and will be in serious trouble. Harsh critique for an absolutely terrible performance.

Status- Bottom three without a doubt

Lauren Alaina sings; The Climb

TK Take- Anyone can sing this better then the no talented Miley Cyrus, who are we kidding. I think she does an ok job with the song but I’m not impressed. She has sounded better in recent weeks and I truly think she takes a step back this week with her cover. Her voice I think climbs all over the place in this song and I truly didn’t enjoy her this week at all.

Status- Could be in jeopardy, stay tuned.

Stefano Langone sings; End of the Road

TK’s Take- Still can’t believe I’m watching him perform this week instead of Pia, so I’ll try to look at it a little bit more clearly. I’ll give him some credit he does a pretty good job with the song. He does have a good voice but I still don’t think it’s enough to take him over the hump. There are better male singers in this competition and I think Stefano every week just squeaks by and gets swallowed up in the competition.

Status- Could be in trouble, stay tuned.

Scotty McCreery sings; I Cross My Heart

TK’s Take- I absolutely love this song so I really hope he doesn’t make me look at it differently. It’s one of the most romantic and best love songs ever recorded by the great George Strait. I think he takes this song and knocks it out of the park. He is so in the zone when he sings a country song and it shines through tonight. He knows what works for him and he capitalizes on it every time. His voice wasn’t the greatest at some parts of the song but he still does a good enough job to make it work.

Status- Will continue, is safe another week.

Casey Abrams sings; Nature Boy

TK’s Take- I was really excited when he said he was going to cover In the Air Tonight but he decided to do Nature Boy. Gotta be honest my friends, the song sucked and his performance sucked also. I just have to call them as I see him. The song moved way too slow and his vocals just didn’t do anything for me at all. He has been saved before and I think that after this week the judges are regretting using the save on him instead of Pia. As I was typing this the judges apparently disagree and give him a standing ovation, but will America like it, that’s the question.

Status- Could be in trouble, stay tuned.

Haley Reinhart sings; Call Me

TK’s Take- After hating on Haley for most of the season, the last few weeks I’ve actually grown to like her and her voice more and more. This is a great rock and roll song and I think she does well with it. Was my favorite performance of the night so far, but in my eyes the other contestants before her didn’t show me anything but I think Haley shows off her big vocals and nails the song well.

Status- I think she will be safe

Jacob Lusk sings; Bridge over Troubled Water

TK’s Take- I did predict him correctly in the bottom three last week so here’s hoping he fixes that issue. A good song choice that should fit his voice well. I think that this week he kind of gets lost in the song again like last week. I think Jacob sizzled at the beginning of this competition and is now starting to fizzle out. He hasn’t done anything recently to show that is he current in this competition and I’m starting to think he might be a one trick pony. This song falls flat for me tonight along with his vocals. Sorry Jacob.

Status- A trip to the bottom three maybe? Stay tuned.

James Durbin sings; Heavy Metal

TK’s Take- Finally a performance worth writing about, and Zach Wylde, hell to the yeah. A classic Sammy Hagar song, that sure most people who watch this song probably won’t recognize but I do and I appreciate a rock guy on this show and taking some risks with this song choice. I think his vocals sound really good much better then last week and it made me wanna get up and rock, so I tip my hat off to James, another awesome rock and roll performance!!!

Status- Safe
Best Performance of the Night- James Durbin for Heavy Metal

So here’s my prediction for the bottom 3:

Paul
Lauren
Jacob

My prediction on whose going home this week: Paul McDonald

Am I right with my assumptions and opinions, please let me know guys and sound off. Thanks everybody!!!

Tim
